Do I receive my own wool back when I send it in for processing?
Absolutely. The order is weighed, tagged, numbered, and processing instructions are written on each separate order to ensure customer receives back to him what he originally sent.

What is the norm turn-around time for having an order processed?
Depending on the time of year, the usual time is about 2-3 weeks, not including shipping time. During the Spring and Fall season, it can take 6-8 weeks.

What wool is best suited for spinning into garments?
The fine sheep breeds, such as Merino, Rambioulet, Targhee, Corriedale, etc. are soft to the skin. The meat sheep are best used for batting, because they have more bounce, thus giving more loft. The coarse breeds, such as Karabul, Lincoln, and Cotswold are nice to spin and then to weave for blankets or outerwear.

How much weight is lost after a fleece is washed and processed?
The average preskirted fleece usually loses about 50% of its weight, due to the lanolin. Some finer fleeces loose more, due to more lanolin and more washings.

Where does your wool come from that we use for our own products we sell?
We normally buy wool for our own products that week sell from Michigan Sheep Breeder, because that is where we are located. However, we do process wool from all over the United States and Canada.

I have a lot of wool and the wool market doesn't give me very much for it, what can I do with it?
